How to use
- Select Guitar or Bass, then upload a .mid file
- Click a note to assign it to a string — pick a string from the popup
- Pan — click and drag on an empty area to pan around the piano roll
- Zoom — use the + and − buttons to zoom the time axis in and out
- Set the open note for each string using the tuning dropdowns (default = E standard), and the reference pitch (default A4 = 440 Hz)
- Export to download a folder containing a .json config and re-mapped .mid file
- Drop your song audio into the folder as a .mp3 file
- Title the folder to match the song name — it's now ready for use in PixelFret
- Place the song folder into the songs directory in your PixelFret folder
- Currently, only monophonic pitch detection works, so avoid chords (polyphonic support coming soon)
- This is not a MIDI editor. This tool only converts MIDI files to PixelFret format. Use an external program such as a DAW for editing MIDI files before uploading
